Well, it seems we need to get more creative than a cumulative points theme. Maybe one of those "match as many design elements as you can" rounds, or something similar where everyone gets one entry (that counts, at least). No pressure, Dorado!

Well done Dorado. I've been off for a few weeks. Hope I have something to contribute this round.

My Two Cents... Stipulate that each player only posts their best coin for the theme, not every coin they have that matches it. Score points based on elements that match the host's example.

Applying the original rules of this game : Quote: If the challenger or new challenger goes AWOL for more than 24 hours, the second place winner gets to pick the next coin. If all else fails, jbuck gets to go. About : *Your game ,your rules* My opinion for the future players: Be precise in your presentation of the rules, and stick to it till the end of the game! Good luck!

I by no means meant to upset anyone. Lets just make the game more challenging. And more fun for more people to play. Quote: Dorado you're up

I don't think Dorado will be providing a new challenge. @keith12 I suppose I started this, or at least exacerbated it with my indecision. In all likelihood, Dorado was the winner of my previous challenge. However, because of complaints and my own remorse, I attempted to give the game a little boost by declaring you the winner. What I wrote about representing my intentions most closely is true, so it wasn't a random choice. I knew others would not appreciate that decision, though. Ultimately, your challenge was no different! It was still a cumulative points, post as many coins as you can event. I'm not sure what you expected to happen. Dorado rightfully won, so I don't think your additional comments after announcing the winner were needed. Like I said, those of us who have photographed our collections and/or are willing to image coins specifically for this challenge should not be at a disadvantage. I would also encourage others to play even knowing you won't win. How many times have you seen others, including me, post something for "participation points?" It doesn't take much effort and adds to the variety. I think jbuck may have to either post a challenge himself or declare another winner so that this game can move forward. Hopefully, Dorado will continue to participate.

Quote:My Two Cents... Stipulate that each player only posts their best coin for the theme, not every coin they have that matches it. Score points based on elements that match the host's example. That's... a bit restrictive. In particular, I think it actually disallows my planned idea, which means that, if I ever win, I might have to resort to the "random coin from my collection" method again. (Approximate context of my complaint: this rule, as stated, appears to disallow themes where it is at least theoretically possible to do better than the host's example - think "post your [one] coin with the most X" where the host's example doesn't actually have that many X. In other words, about the only remaining option will be something along the lines of "here's a listing of all the design elements on this coin/token/round, 1 point for matching each of them", which is just boring with a different way.)

If you ask me, I think it's nice to see overwhelming participation rather than 3-5 coins posted per round. I haven't been as active as I'd like to be, but I have enjoyed seeing the coins posted here. As far as the "Spam your coins with X theme" challenges, it all comes down to what you have imaged. I only have a significant number of my ancient coins imaged; I could probably give Dorado a run for his money with my bags upon bags of world coins, but "Ain't nobody got time!" Also, this thread just passed the "Recent Purchases" thread! Even if it is starting to wind down, let's all congratulate ourselves for taking it this far!
