If you ask me, I think it's nice to see overwhelming participation rather than 3-5 coins posted per round. I haven't been as active as I'd like to be, but I have enjoyed seeing the coins posted here. As far as the "Spam your coins with X theme" challenges, it all comes down to what you have imaged. I only have a significant number of my ancient coins imaged; I could probably give Dorado a run for his money with my bags upon bags of world coins, but "Ain't nobody got time!"
Haha yeah! Especially since the old-style rounds, of the kind that jbuck seems to propose, often meant that everyone posted essentially the same thing, which was, if anything, more boring.
The idea to limit it to substantially distinct types is nice though, and is one I can get behind. Three pages of Canadian half dollars that look identical except for the date is just silly.

I don't have "bags upon bags" of world coins myself, but my Numista collection exceeds 3000 coins, and I have other coins that, for whatever reasons, I didn't enter on Numista (for the most part, those are ancient and/or medieval coins that they didn't happen to have pages for when I was entering that bag).
If the theme was sufficiently extensive, I could have probably posted dozens of coins as well - if I had the photos, at least (which, as it happens, I also almost never do).
I actually considered entering on the "post your commemoratives" round a while back, but decided that making that many photos (in theory, easily over a hundred) might turn out to be too much of a stress on my poor old smartphone camera...

EDIT:

Also, this thread just passed the "Recent Purchases" thread! Even if it is starting to wind down, let's all congratulate ourselves for taking it this far!
This makes it, apparently, the 2nd longest thread in the Main Coin Forum.

The 1st longest, as far as I can tell, is How Far Back Can We Go (4th edition), and is only about 15 pages ahead. If this one manages to pass it and take 1st place, that will be a indeed...

I have only 1400+ world coins posted on Numista, so you have about twice as many world coins as I do. Just photograph them all and you should be all set to dominate these contests. (I seem to recall that you were about to join the "300 Countries Club", when the big catalog re-org happened.)

I don't think Dorado will be providing a new challenge.

You are right.....I'am a man of his word.

I suppose I started this, or at least exacerbated it with my indecision. In all likelihood, Dorado was the winner of my previous challenge.....

But as for the entire community, nothing will ever catch the JFK CRH thread. nothing

I... will probably have to make a listing of who got how many points, but I definitely do not believe myself deserving of this particular round.

I think pepactonius got 2nd place? That's what it looked like to me, anyway.

I'd recommend giving you the opportunity to post that great challenge you mentioned earlier. All I have is a few half-prepared "contingecy challenges" for situations like this, where I might have to suddenly post a challenge without delaying the thread.

It's not that great, and in fact I would not be very surprised if your contingency ideas are better.

If you also don't want to do it this time... I think spruett001 is next, then Arkie, then I but I pre-emptively pass my spot, then Spence, then... jbuck, I guess.

@j1m, not to put you on the spot, but my vote is for you to lead the next round of go fish also.

I don't have any ideas (need to figure out a fresh overall approach to this). So with pepactonius, jbuck and Spence on board, I would like to see what your challenge is, january1may!

I have no doubt this will overtake HFBCWG.

Unfortunately, there are several problems with my challenge...

1) it doesn't follow jbuck's "count the similarities" rule
2) since I was fairly certain that I wouldn't win, I forgot to prepare for it - i.e. I will still need to take some photos of the intended host coin
3) as mentioned, I very much doubt it would be quite as good as you seem to believe
and 4) Arkie is ahead of me in line, anyway.

If it turns out that Arkie doesn't want to do it either, I'm willing to attempt it, but if I don't manage to write it up in another day or two (which isn't that unlikely), it's going to be either a free-for-all, or jbuck will have to come up with something.

Again, not a rule, a suggestion.

I will give someone, anyone, until after the GTP 3PM deadline passes to do something or I will post my challenge.
