@dorado, is that a Hologram or something else on the coin? It fits the bill, whatever it is.

From my OFEG (One For Each Gimmick) subcollection:

Canada -- 20 dollars, 2018:
Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!
Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

This coin has three unusual features:

- partial gold plating
- colorized
- egg-shaped

I'd like to see someone start a thread where we could post odd coins like this.

Can I post an auction win that I don't have in hand yet?

Japan, Ansei era (1854 - 1860)
Billon chogin (.135 fine, about 100-150 grams, c. 90mm tall)
Stamped with the Ansei mark, the God Daikoku (wealth) with the characters for Ansei on his belly, 'Ansei' at top and bottom, plus several banker's marks

These were technically NCLT as these giant silver turds bar ingots were mostly presentation pieces to powerful samurai and aristocrats; they were far too valuable to be remotely feasible for daily transactions. A good analogy would be a $1,000 bill. Chogin initially (c. 1600s-1700s) did circulate on occasion, but they were replaced by denominated silver bars in the 1820s. They were still minted until the 1860s for gift/presentation purposes, but had to be individually weighed and assayed by a certified money changer in order to be spent, which did sometimes happen.

@Finn235, yes we can count this. It is yours even if you don't have it in hand. Also, our NCLT theoretically can circulate and may be spent from time to time.

I just realized that I have no idea how to embed a poll within a topic, rather than start a new poll, if this is even possible. If someone can tell me how, please do so.

In the meantime, just vote for your favorite among this by replying to the topic.

1. Arkie: Painted 1 oz eagle
2. Dorado: Hologram Diamond
3. Pepactonius: Pysanka (easter egg)
4. McShilling: venetian glass Turtle
5. Finn235: Japan Billon Chogin
6. BD251: Glow in the dark Dinosaur

In the event of a tie, the first poster will win. Anyone can vote. Voting ends Thursday at 7 pm.
