New challenge -- - Post your coin with the highest KM#
==========================================

1) Limited to coins in the Krause Catalog (generally after 1600. with some back to around 1500)

2) Coins mist have normal KM# NNN -- not X# (unusual coins) Y#, MB# etc.

3) Must not have KM# TnNNN (tokens), KM# ENNN (essais), KM# Pnnn (piedforts), KM# PnNNN (pattern), KM# PrNNN (provas/probas), KM# MSNNN (mint set), KM# PSnnnn (proof set), KM# SSnnn (special sets), KM# PLnnn (proof-like set) KM# TsNNN (trial strike) numbers, or any other special number.

4) For numbers like KM# 123.1, KM# 123A, KM# 123.7a etc -- only use the part before the . or a, etc.

5) For numbers like A201, A201b, just use the numeric part.

6) New coins not yet in Krause and older coins not in the catalog don't count, and will get 0 points.

7) The number of points awarded is numerically equal to the KM# -- see (4) (5) and (6), above.

8) In case of a points tie, the earliest post wins. If one user posts multiple coins, the one with the highest KM# is used.

9) Posts with no coin will get 0 points, but will appear in the leaderboard. If there are no valid posts, the first post with 0 points wins this round.

10) Please include the KM# in the post.

11) There are no bonus points for an exact match.

12) Added: This round ends June 2, 2019 at 21:30 forum time (EDT).

If you don't have acess to a Krause Catalog, the online Numista catalog often gives the KM#, for modern coins.

The challenge coin:

Austria -- 25 Euro, 2011:

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

(KM# 3204)

This coin has a colorized niobium center, and is part of the OFEG (One For Each Gimmick) subcollection.

Congrats Pepactonius!

I don't have the Krause Catalog - how are coins arranged and where should I begin looking to find the highest number?

I'd look at your newest coins from countries like Austria (up to KM #3275+), Canada (up to KM #2250+), Australia (up to KM #2200+), China (up to KM #2020+). The numista country list (in English) is here https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pays.php, and (in French) is here https://fr.numista.com/catalogue/pays.php. I'm not sure which list is more up-to-date.
