Here is the "challenge":

This will be a round that's a bit "loose" on the rules. The goal is to submit your least valuable item, coin or banknote. The primary rule is:

It must be, or have been, official currency/legal tender/commonly circulated.

I would appreciate if submissions were accompanied by a current estimate of value compared to the US dollar. For instance, the coin and note I show are original bolívares (I assume they are no longer legal tender). The bolívar has gone through a couple revaluations since then. It became the bolívar fuerte at a 1000:1 rate and that then recently became the bolívar soberano at a rate of 100,000:1. So, these "old" bolívares are worth 1/100,000,000 of the current Bs.S. which is itself valued at 22,070 to 1 USD. Soooooooo, what I pictured are each hypothetically worth 1/22,070,000,000th of one US cent, or $0.0000000000453.

Ideally, the least valued piece will win. It will probably take some input on the rules or even just a popularity contest for the most creative entry. Let's see how it goes!

Too lazy to look at the rest of my foreign currency, but the Sucre is 1 USD to 25697.18 Sucre. Not quite as devalued as Venezuelan but I don't have any of their coins.

Why are so many posting both? Just for fun?

Great entries so far! To clarify, you don't need to post both a note and coin, just one or the other. Of course, it's fine to post both if you want.

I used both as an example because they have the same "value" and I happened to have them both. There are some good suggestions with pesos and marks. Any hyperinflation incidents will help. I'm also interested if any ancient/medieval coinage can be traced to a modern "value."

Just post what you got and we'll sort it all out at the end.

I didn't say before, but I'll give this through Friday night for entries and then try to figure out a winner!
