Seems to be another challenge for Americans only - be a bit more fairer if international people were allowed to have their category.

This game is not targeted to one kind of Collector. If you have nothing to post then just back and watch.

My oldest American coin is only a 1888 Nickel anyway.

Post it if you have a picture. Participation and seeing everyone's coins is part of the fun of this game. The more participants, the more new players are likely to join the fun. More players means more possible coins for challenges.

I am told this is a 1794 penny, lettered edge, having shown it around at a coin show a few years ago. I gather they can tell by the loops of the hair, but I am no Early American Coppers expert.

You can kinda make out the top of the 4 on that coin.

Final call for entries!

Unless we get a last minute entry, I don't think anyone's going to top Arkie's 1794!

Although @pepactonius, that 1796 is

Which raises the question: does a certain 1794 trump a suspected 1794? There were lettered edge cents in 1795.

Sorry for the delay! Got caught up in stuff.

Taking a closer look at it, I think Arkie is still the winner, because I'm fairly certain I can see the top of a 4 on the cent.

Take it away, @Arkie!

minted the second year after the mint opened. Contest: post your coin minted closest to when the mint opened. Sovereign issues. In case of a tie, the highest intrinsic value wins.
