I thought about it, but I'm not sure how it would turn out for a new member who is new to the game. However, he would be the current leader if he did post it.

Best I can tell, Dorado is the current leader at $881,250 (2013 Stack's/Bowers auction for an MS68 1889-CC)

I know you got something to add, Crazyb0!

Rules:
- Criteria for the days can't be easily applied to all possible courses this thread may take, so it is the duty of the challenger to set them.
- All of numismatics and exonumia is fair game
- Challenge coins must have at least 10 known examples; ideally more than 50
- You can post esoteric varieties, but aim to give people a fair shot at winning on day 1. For example a 1999 WAM is fair, but one random 2009 LP2 doubled thumb variety should allow any roughly comparable variety to win on day 1.
- No foot in the door posts. Posts edited to add photos are disqualified!
- In the event of a dispute, there will be a duel to the death the challenger (or mods) will decide the winner.
- If the challenger or new challenger goes AWOL for more than 24 hours, the second place winner gets to pick the next coin. If all else fails, jbuck gets to go.
- If you don't have a coin, be sure to spam "GO FISH" to boost your post count

I'll get us started with an easy one in the spirit of the HFBCWG thread:

Great Britain "Cartwheel" twopence, 1797

The 1913 Liberty Head Nickel is one of the most valuable coins in the world. Only 5 specimens are confirmed to exist, although there is an intriguing hint that there might be a sixth. The finest-known 1913 Liberty nickel is valued at a minimum of $5 million, the price for which it sold in May of 2007.

I think it should count.

We are posting imitations and I am sure that more than ten imitation 1913 Liberty Head nickels exist.

If I get around to taking a picture, I'll post something tonight. It's not a winner, but different than what's been posted so far.

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

This one doesn't say "copy" but the dead giveaway is that it is medal alignment...

Yes, that is certainly the most obvious giveaway.

Abe looks unhappy and squinty.

Thanks for posting!

Results:

It has been over three days since the challenge began. I don't think the member with the V nickel will find the invite or this topic any time soon.

I was a little unfamiliar with some of the "coins" posted, but I researched the best I could to get a close range of value (if real). With that information, there is a clear-cut winner: Dorado!

With a potential of well over $800,000, the competition pales.

Rough placement:

1. Dorado ($881,250 auction record)
2. mysilveryears ($340,750 auction record)
3. Spence (record depends on variety: $141,000 max)
4. bd251 ($5,750 auction record)
5. fourmack ($2,200 record for an UNC example in 2016)
6. Finn235 ($995 by the vcoins sale)
7. Joseph7420 (participation award )

Note: the auction record for what I posted is $7.59 Million. It was the only legal auction of the coin whereby half of the sold price went to the U.S. government.

The torch has been passed to you, Dorado.
