Quote: Where's J1M? In Israel I thought I had a photo of one of the "liberated capitals" coins, but I couldn't find it. I'll check if I have any photos of 2016 coins from Russia. Probably...

"From 2016 onwards" is a good description of this type, which was released in December 2016 to banks that were about to close down for the holidays. I tried to get an example of it in late December 2016 and early January 2017 for the How Far Back Can We Go thread (the 4th edition was about to start at the time), but at the time only very few examples have reached numismatists, and prices were ridiculous (around $30 per coin, IIRC), so I decided it wasn't worth it. I acquired this example, for a much more reasonable price of under $1, in February 2017. The coin, however, is dated 2018. Russian Federation, 25 rubles (cupronickel), dated 2018 commemorating the 2018 FIFA World Cup Numista 99231, CBR 5015-0013Numista used to show the correct issue date for this type; I'm not sure where did the currently listed one come from. CBR (i.e. the Russian Central Bank's database) correctly gives 21 December 2016. As usual for my pictures of this period, I apologize for the rotated photos; they were the right way up when I uploaded them.

Well done J1M. Nice coin. I have the mascot version.
