Have we ever considered adding a checkbox to indicate Young Numismatist on the signup and profile pages? In addition to acknowledging younger people joining the group (with a YN banner) it could help those responding to their posts in a kinder, more educational, way. Just a thought.

No, and indeed the exact opposite is our intent. We do not wish to expose YN's publicly, as they can likely be more vulnerable to being compromised by potential miscreants. Our best efforts to keep Coin Community clean will always be incomplete because of the fact that miscreants never publicly identify themselves as such. We have to be equal parts proactive and reactive.

Furthermore, and equally importantly, that "kinder, more educational" approach is expected of all CCF members in all situations. The level of respect and commitment to numismatics desired of our membership is equal for all. Obviously newer members - and they can just as easily be grown adults as YN's - will provide content generally more in the form of questions than answers. When contemplated, one understands that questions are just as valuable as answers, and we expect that the level of discourse will remain equally high regardless.

Thank you for raising the question, though; it allows us to again make the point regarding why we call this place the "Coin Community Family" rather than the "Coin Community Forum."

Thank you SsuperDdave. So many things I never considered when I made the request. I never for a second considered acknowledging our young members could/would expose them to any sort of risk.
