I bought this for 2.50 at a coin shop called Nashua Coins And Collectables. Does not show the Blakesley Effect, but not all coins comes with this effect. It still a real clip of course. The grade written on the original holder was AU condition. I say more like EF condition.

Reverse does seem to show the Blaksley effect! What are you using to take pictures?, they all seem to be a touch blurry!

Oh, oops. I guess I didn't see it then. For pictures, I'm using a cheap 20 dollar Tracfone ZTE Z717VL that's powered by Android.

Interesting you mentioned no "Blakesley". I noticed at 9 o'clock indication of a slight MAD perpendicular to the clip. This means the most pressure from the strike was centered at 9 oclock, least at 3. I have no idea exactly what this would do, but since the Blakesley effect is a result of pressure/strength then there would have to be some alteration of that effect. This one's a...

Crazyb0, it's weird. At least I only paid 2.50 for it. What you said was very interesting to me. Good point.

Nice pickup!

It does definitely show the Blakesley Effect on the reverse. On the obverse, there may be some weakness in the ST in TRUST and the rim weakens before the first T, which would correlate. The pic is too blurry to really tell.

From the pics, I also agree it's not AU.

Spruett001, it was a great pickup. Got it for cheap too. The holder said AU but in my opinion, EF condition is more like it. You are also right as it does show the Blakesley Effect on the reverse.

The absence of the Blakesley Effect is not a definitive rejection of an incomplete planchet error. You need to look for other diagnostics like tapered rims(present) and die flow on peripheral devices(TED S- present).

That's right. You have to look for other things that are involved in a Clipped Planchet error.

Thanks CoinCentsLady. When I am ever down in Nashua again, I'll check out the coin shop.
