Is there a catalogue for rare and scarce world coins that you recommend?

Well, obviously the Krause "Standard Catalogs." They are your best bet, but other than that, I'm not really sure.

A book that only lists the rare coins, but not the common ones? Can't say I've heard of such a thing.

There is a catalogue that only lists the "Crowns" - also published by Krause. And there's Friedberg's catalogue of Gold Coins. But I don't think either of those are what you're after.

Thanks Sap, I was just wondering if such a book exists. It would have saved me a lot of money, because now I will have to buy many books to collect the data I am looking for.
