I created a topic for my finds in the 5 lbs of world coins I bought and these were really the only U.S. "coins" (other that U.S.-minted world coins). They're not in very good shape but, they are the only sales tax tokens I have now and reading up on their usage was interesting and educational!

IIRC, the Missouri token is zinc and the Alabama is aluminum.

Nice find. Back in the 70's I would buy foreign coins by the pound from a local dealer. One batch had a worn copper that after a bit of research turned out to be 1794 Talbot, Alum and Lee cent. Good times
