Hello!

I am currently researching a paper on the mintage and history of precious metal rounds, including the world-renowned Engelhard American Prospector series.

I am in need of information regarding the history (development, design), and mintage-numbers of the Prospector series.

Are you able to provide any details on the Prospector series? Do you know of any prior publications (books or articles) which offer details?

My paper is purely for non-profit, academic research only, to be freely shared with the numismatic community upon completion.

I very much appreciate any information you can help me with. Thank you very much!

Have you tried writing to Engelhard and asking them?
They would probably be happy to provide you with any sort of information.

Unfortunately, "Engelhard" is no more. BASF bought them in 2006. I have tried to contact the right people at BASF North America, but no response yet. It appears BASF has made a major effort to suppress the Engelhard identity altogether, so it's hard to figure out what's what in relation to Engelhard's old corporate structure.

Well, isn't that helpful of them!
I wish I could help in some way, but I know nothing about them, sorry!
Best of luck in your search.
