The 3 is the wrong shape and seeing there are only 5 known S mint cents to exist in the 350,000$ range it wouldn't make sense. If it sticks to a magnet then plated, if not then just another fake copy.

The 3 on the top picture did not look right,could have been the glare!

I agree that it is most likely plated but if it isn't ohhhh boy...

With the new picture of the obverse it seems the steel/zinc is showing through on the high points. And the S seems too fat (from the plating?) - should be more tapered and rounded at both ends - JIMO.

It is one problem or the other, not both. Will the OP please give us a simple description of the coin - is there any evidence of a silver color showing through on the high points of this coin, as suggested by your pics?
