So I mainly do nickels and pennies I've sorted almost $7000 in nickels this year and over $3000 in pennies. I've tried two boxes of halves and got nothing. Done about 6 or so boxes of dimes and got 3 silvers. Bought a box today and got 4 Rosies in one box ha doubled my silver. So I bought 4 more boxes of dimes crossing my fingers for more luck. I'll update when I finish sorting them.

well good luck. But I don't think I'de have the patience to search a whole box of dime rolls just to get $4.96 in silver.

If it's your entertainment, it's cheap entertainment.
If it's for a profit, get a minimum wage job for a few hours a week and buy a whole lot more silver than you will find in rolls or boxes.

I have been meaning to buy a box of dimes, but haven't gotten around to it...Sounds like loads of fun. I'm anxious to hear your results.
Good luck and Godspeed

Dimes were always my favorite. I averaged one silver per $150 searched, I amassed 1,000+ rosies, Barbers, dozens of mercs and 150+ Canadian silvers in the few years that I searched them. I could sit down with $1k in CWR's and have them searched and re-rolled in about two hours.

Got skunked in all four boxes. I did find a 1920 buffalo and a 1945 P in a box of nickels.

Tried a few boxes at first, about $2000 worth, gleaned one Barber (Had to be collection dump in VF) and one Roosie. Over next couple years tried maybe $1000. Opened one box at bank in front of tellers, saw white in two of the 10 rolls, thought for sure was a jackpot, only two in that and two other boxes, gave up with them, bank was hastling me and wouldn't take the unopened rolls back so resorted to slicing the plastic on all the rest, not worth time and effort.
Quarters are even WORSE!

I don't search dimes often, I mostly just do pennies, nickels and halfs when I can.
One day I did get lucky with dimes, I got 3 CWRs of them and only 1 had 12 silvers, 1 barber, 2 mercs and the rest were rosies!
If I had a lot of money I'd search through more dimes, but I work with what I have!

fistfullofdirt,
How are you able to do $1000 of dimes in two hours? That is 10 boxes, is it not? Do you not look at dates, just look for silvers or non Roosevelts?
