As people are getting ready for Christmas, I am looking ahead two weeks after it for the FUN show in Orlando instead! I am lucky enough to live an hour and a half away so I am making my list and checking it twice. With over 400 plus tables, it is the LARGEST coin show in the world. Just to zig-zaw and walk the show from booth to booth takes a couple of hours alone.
That is how I work the show. I walk it first. Make notes and designate booth numbers, return, and then finally sit down and look at the coins I like at hand.
I know ND is going. Anybody else? I would like to say hello as I hit the floor. It is nice to put a face with the name.
My list?
A better than 1959 1c PR67CAM for my registry set. 1923-S 1c in a AU/MS range, raw A 1960 Small Date 1c PR68CAM for my registry set 1912-S 1c in a high slider grade range, raw 1915-S 1c in a high slider grade range, raw 1933-P 1c in at least a MS65RD or better condition, raw 1932-D 1c in at least a MS65RD or better condition, raw Another CC Morgan in at least a MS63 grade (PCGS or NGC)
This is like the 10th upgrade edition for my Lincolns.
Also, to complete my 1909 cent collection, I am looking for a PCGS 1909-S Indian 1c in a MS63 grade (RB would be nice). If I get that, I might to have to forget most of the above list and just walk out with one KEY coin!
Last year, I bought 5 coins...all high grade as one of the courses I attended (FREE) really emphasized to buy quality over commons which is the advice I took to heart. My first show, I bought a bunch of commons which have pretty much all been resold and replaced.
So...whose going? Look out for me. I am 6'5", 255 lbs., (ahem) and will be wearing my Fox News "The Factor" hat just for the hell of it.
Since hurricane Wilma blew away the Palm Beach show in West Palm, I have been getting the itch. Can't wait!
