InfiniteInterest Pillar of the Community United States 673 Posts	Posted 05/06/2008 10:30 pm Found these last week while searching those IHC's . The first one is an 1889 with a Re-Punched Date. You can see the base of the 1 under the primary 1, and the eight has a couple cuts in the tops of the loops and the lower loop of the 8 is split at the bottom. The next coin is a 1905, I am not sure if it is re punched or not. The 9 has a small line under the bottom of the top loop, but I don't see any other evidence of Re punching on any other numbers, anybody see something I don't ? Is this an RPD or just a die scratch/crack/chip ? The last one is an 1897 with a couple pretty big die chips on the reverse. The T in cent looks more like a strike through, but it could be a chip, the O in ONE is much sharper and is most certainly a die chip IMO. All opinions appreciated ! Report this Post to the Staff

The 1889 is S-7, which Rick Snow comments "this is a scarce variety, although fairly minor" (1 star) The 1905 is a minor one that doesn't match anything I see in my guide. The two I thought were unlisted are only unlisted in the old book I suspect. Since I could not find these either, I am guessing the same thing applies. I am going to have to get a newer copy.
