I am trying to valuate coins for an elderly Aunt. They are in a casing of 18 and contain famous places in the United States such as the White House, Bolder d***, Statue of Liberty, Mt. Rushmore, etc. I have looked everywhere I can locate. Someone once answered an email and suggested they were tokens but did not follow through. Any suggestions?

Maria

Hi Maria and welcome to the forum!

From what I can see, some (all?) of them look like knock-offs of the $5 Half Eagle commemorative series, produced perhaps at one of the private mints, e.g., Franklin Mint. However, the pictures are too small for a better ID. Could you post larger (closer) pictures of both sides?

Fred

Totally agree. These are minted privately. Some are made in precious metals such as silver, but the majority (95%) are made of base metals and carry very little value. (other than tv or mail order)
