The Fall 2017 National Postage Stamp and Coin Show will feature close to 50 national coin and stamp dealers from across Canada, on Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29.
Presented by Canadian Coin News and Canadian Stamp News, the 2-day show opens each day at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is only $3 on Saturday and FREE on Sunday. Parking is free (do not pay the hotel parking meters; instead register vehicle licence plate number at admission desk).
Seminar highlights include:
-Wesley Klassen, of St. Catharines, Ont., whose designed was selected for the Canada 150 $1 circulating coin, will be at the show on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. to meet collectors and provide autographs.
-Liz Wong, Design Manager for Canada Post, and award winning designer Lionel Gadoury will present, "When was the last time a stamp gave you chills," focusing on the design process of Canada Post's popular Haunted Canada Series on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.
-Long-time error and variety collector and CCN columnist John Regitko will present a seminar on "Backdoor Jobs from the
Royal Canadian Mint" at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.
-Meet Canadian Coin News' Trends Editor Michael Findlay for an informal discussion on Sunday, starting at the special time of 9 a.m. (Please note the bourse will not open until 10 a.m.). This is an opportunity for collectors and dealers to have a casual conversation with Michael regarding any questions they may have about Trends.
-Daniel Roettele of Lighthouse Canada will give an informative presentation focused on setting up and using optical aids such as microscopes, ultraviolet lights, watermark detectors and magnifiers, on Sunday at 11 a.m.
-A Young Collectors Auction will start at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
