Hello to all. Fell in love with coins a few years ago. Many pennies, dimes, nickels, quarters, and dollar coins later I find the need for some real education by joining the legendary coin community. I came across this 2006-D penny a few days ago and noticed a line running horizontally in front of the 2. Looking through a loupe I noticed that the line actually continued it's run over Lincoln's best. My question: it seems legit for an error coin requirement. If so, what is it called? Thank you so much for any feedback.

to CCF!

It's hard to say because the pic is a bit blurry. It could be a die crack, which would be a real error. Or, it could be a plating bubble, considering that the coin is copper-plated zinc.

It caught my eye as a possible die clash, being in the area between date and vest, but when comparing to the overlays it isn't. It has too much of an angle and is a bit larger than a clash would be. Has to be a split plating bubble.

Too prominent in that picture to be a die crack.

We are all pretty much guessing at this point until a clearer image is provided, my guess is linear gas trail as well.
