@Paul That Munster thaler is a nice pick up. How big are these? I see some slabbed in oversized holders.
@Zohar You amaze with your beautiful pieces as always. The Paar thaler is just exquisite. That George thaler, were these treated as currency or where they strictly medallic, do you know?
@IndianGoldEagle If this is your Gem and you are proud of it, then it belongs right here in this thread. I don't know too many people with a 1742 Ecu in their possession, regardless of the condition.
Love seeing this thread and the beautiful pieces presented here. Always brings that warm feeling when I get an email saying someone posted something here. Keep 'em coming folks! I have a few more recent pieces to share; I'll try to post them later today.

@cableguy815 - thanks so much. These were not for circulation but rather commemorative issues for the millennia. 100 issues of each.
This thread is probably the best crown/taler thread on any forum.

@Pepa - nice peso! Quote: This thread is probably the best crown/taler thread on any forum. We're just getting warmed up! Plenty more to come! I have what I consider "mega buy" to share. It's somewhere in transit - can't wait for it to arrive.

Very nice paulCT - the salt box theme runs throughout the Salzburg issues.

Nice Salzburg thaler Paul; yours is especially nicely toned. I love that kind of iridescent toning. So my "mega buy" arrived yesterday after what seemed to be an eternal 2 weeks in the mail. I've been chasing this scarce type for several years now. I paid a strong price for this piece but a well worth one in my opinion. It is an excellently struck and much to my surprise, a very lustrous example. 1796 Denmark Speciedaler also known as the "Albertsdaler" A couple of other recent pickups to bolster my Russian collection: 1798 Rouble - A nice, well struck, toned, and lustrous example with a small planchet flaw 1774 Rouble - Strong strike and well preserved though appears to have been dipped? Fortunately some mint bloom remains

Here's a 1660 krone of 4 marck from the Kingdom of Denmark (and Norway). No mintmark or mintmaster's initials, possibly Copenhagen?
