Post the Obverse .. that's where most of the fakes are easier to discern.

Actually, the holder is real. I used PCGS's certification lookup and it came up right.

I don't like the look of the denticles at the bottom of the obverse. The font on the holder also looks a bit off. I'd lean towards fake on this one.

@WheatBackPenny
The fact that the cert # is legitimate, doesn't mean that this particular coin/holder are authentic. Forgers are smart enough to use a proper cert #, as this information is in plain view.
Rest in Peace

I really don't see anything that rings any negative bells.

If you check the other coins they are selling, they also show no indication of counterfeits.

The denticles at the base of the obverse are distorted because of the camera angle with the plastic itself causing the strange look.

Private listing = red flag
Item "Sold" and now has been relisted = bigger red flag

The coin is real. But....I hate private listings. ebay should do away with them. I just asked to cancel a transaction because of it. It's a paradise for shill bids.

It is painfully obvious shill bidding.

Here's another he is doing the exact same thing on:

1820 British Sovereign PCGS XF45 currently at $1,425
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1820-Great-....m1438.l2649

His previous "sales" of the exact same coin:

October 28: $982
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1820-Great-...AOSwTEJZ64CJ

October 8: $1,102

Querry

What is the difference betwixt this and placing a minimum opening bid which is at or above the shrill.

It's unethical to represent these activities as true and fair auctions.

It's against ebay terms of service (shill bidding).

If there is a certain price you want for an item at auction, you either set a reserve or price it as such at the opening bid.
