Silver Denarius From Charlemagne, From Dorestado

In 793/4 Charlemagne adopts a new and uniform monetary system, based on weight (240 denier to a Carolingian pound of silver), with a new apearance.
This is a Silver denarius from Charlemagne, from Dorestado. It was one of the new type minted between 794-814 AD
Diameter: 20
(mass): 1,28 gram
Metal: Silver
Issued by: Charlemagne
Obv: CARLVS REX FR/ Cross
Rev: DORESTADO/ KRLS monogram

The early ones are indeed beautiful. If I can give an advice on getting one if you don't live in West Europe, try the French ebay. Sometimes a coin is sold for a really low price, just because the whole medieval or Carolingian wasn't in the description.
