This is one of the gold coins that I inherited when my mother passed. I have been trying to photograph them for some time now but I haven't been satisfied with the results. these pics are the best of them all and they do not look nearly as good as in hand. What looks like scratches in the field and on and near the 5 are not on the coin they are on the clear window of the 2x2. the stars on the obverse show no ware that I can see, the same goes for the reverse as well. The "2 1/2" on the reverse does not have scratches, again, it's the clear window. As far as the "crater" looking area on the reverse between the wing and America I cannot see when it's in hand. As always, I appreciate your knowledgeable and honest opinions. Thank you for looking.

The images aren't real sharp but it looks like a genuine lightly circulated common date Quarter Eagle. It make make AU50 but the grade isn't really that important in this case. These pieces wholesale for almost double melt value so you have a $300+ piece there.

I wish I could transfer the images that my eyes see (as I'm holding this coin in hand) to my computer.
