When it comes to using air tight capsules, I do the next best thing to what the Royal Australian Mint does for their more valuable proof coins:
They use permanent weld sealed acrylic capsules.

I use ex British Royal Mint re openable screw sealed capsules, appropriately sized to the coin.
I buy them from my local coin store for 50 cents each.
