Although the historical facts are easily come by, I'm having trouble finding any background on this particular medal. It features the Argentine CoA and date of independence, and is made from cannon metal captured at the Battle of Chacabuco in what is now Chile.

Apart from one fleeting reference in an old Argentine auction catalogue there appears to be nothing on the web. Nice piece though.
