I don't see the just in investing in gold and silver this way, but to each their own. In my view, if your investing in precious metals your better off buy stocks then keeping a hoard in your house. Security being the major issue. Another being if you wanted to sell all you need to do is but in a sell order online.

Just read this article on the volatility of precious metal and it makes sense. Their value increases in time of government uncertainty and right now we are stable if not going throw some economic growth and so we are seeing less people investing in these precious metal. Once we are in fear of economic meltdown, the market spikes in gold and silver.
