I was going through my collection today and looked at them closely with a magnifying glass. I found on some of the Sasanians there were
small cracks on the coins that I didn't notice is this normal?

In my opinion yes as the ancient silver used was never pure to start with and over the years becomes crystalline in character. So if you ever see a chipped one it looks white inside and the coin can actually be snapped. You worry in my opinion if the coin has nice modern structurally sound metallic silver. Here is a link talking about the process if you are curious from the other forum.

Little cracks on silver ancients are of two types:
1. - flan cracks when the coin has been struck; these are usually radial, at the edge, but not necessarily, and:
2. - natural aging of the silver itself, which can be of two sorts:
silver crystallization and
horn silver.

Silver coins, like humans can get old, and eventually fall apart.
To find out about both of the underlined topics:
Google them; that is what I did for my own education.
Wiki can explain both in much more detail, and with more accuracy than I can.

Fairly common, from what I have seen in Sassanian coins. Not sure whether it happened during striking, during the formation of silver crystals, or both, but I have seen plenty of Sassanian drachms with chipped edges, and have on that has a crack in the center. Just don't drop them and keep them out of reach of the grandkids!
