Here's a verified 1888/7 Snow-1 for comparison. As you can see with this coin, it's easy for dirt and patina to obscure the most obvious marker
--the base of the 7 protruding from the bottom of the last 8. That said, this detail should be seen under close examination.
And yet, there are quicker ways to confirm the 1888/7. All known examples have an obverse rim
Cud seen opposite the E in UNITED.
Another quick ID with any
IHC die variety is the position of the date in relation to the portrait and the denticles.
By comparing your 1888 to the one below, you'll notice the date on yours is a different position (and a different 1 punch is used).
Your coin was struck from a different die than the 1888/7. In terms of grade, I might say around VF25--with possible light cleaning on the obverse?
