A bit worn exemple of an important 1st century coin to honour Germanicus after his dead.
Minted in Rome, AD 40-1.
Obv: Germanicus standing in ornamented slow quadriga right, holding sceptre
Legend: GERMANICVS CAESAR
Rev: Germanicus, bare-headed and cuirassed with tunic, standing left, right arm raised and holding aquila.
Legend: SIGNIS RECEPT DEVICTIS GERM in two lines, S-C across fields
DIameter: 29mm
Mass:4,5 gram
