No disturbance on the opposite side of the coin. Purely indentation, no metal lifted on either side of the cavity. Possibly grease of small piece of cotton?

I'm inclined to agree. It's a dent, not a gouge, so if it were postmint we'd expect to see metal still present which had obviously been moved. That doesn't seem to be the case here.
