Hello everyone new to the whole coin thing, I just recently ran across this1968 penny and I am curious as to if this is just wear and year or a print blemish.... Any help would be appreciated... it's I'm god we trust that I'm curious about... hopefully you can zoom in and see what I'm talking about.

to CCF. The lettering was too close the the edge because of the design and the circulation wear has made it look that way.The design was changed not to long after that year.

The green is corrosion and the letters at the edge are from circulation.

to the forum, I agree with the design change and normal lettering for that year considering the heavily circulated coin. The green substance on the profile looks like glue and should come off if soaked in pure Acetone but I don't think for this coin would be worth the effort.
