Is there any potential harm in storing coins inside a sentry safe in an uninsulated attic. It can get very hot in the attic in the summer. Would the coins be safe being stored in the safe in the attic? I just wanted to here some other people's input on storing them. Thanks!

Put plenty of Descant in it and ck weekly. I maybe wrong? maybe some can add a better answer? I store most of mine in a bank safety deposit box.

High temps can accelerate the chemical processes that create toning. Depending on where you live, humidity levels could be much higher in an attic as opposed to a house interior with an AC unit that dehumidifies the air.

I knew someone knew more about storage at home .I agree with biokemist6 the heating & cooling will sure tone one but you may like the toning you get. I love a nice toned coin myself!

Thanks biokemist and amac. I was going to try to make room but if it could potentially harm the coins I will leave them where they are. You can find out anything you want to know on this forum in a matter of minutes.

If you have room in the attic that you want to use, it might be possible to enclose and insulate a storage area. To control heat and humidity, you would also need to route your AC to it. This all depends on how much room you have and how easy it is to access it.
