Storing Coins In Attic? - Coin Community Forum

Connor Pillar of the Community United States 2130 Posts	Posted 05/12/2008 2:20 pm Is there any potential harm in storing coins inside a sentry safe in an uninsulated attic. It can get very hot in the attic in the summer. Would the coins be safe being stored in the safe in the attic? I just wanted to here some other people's input on storing them. Thanks! Depending on where you live, humidity levels could be much higher in an attic as opposed to a house interior with an AC unit that dehumidifies the air. jbuck Moderator United States 187702 Posts	Posted 05/12/2008 3:33 pm If you have room in the attic that you want to use, it might be possible to enclose and insulate a storage area. To control heat and humidity, you would also need to route your AC to it. This all depends on how much room you have and how easy it is to access it.
