I think this article is basically stating the obvious. Every portfolio should be diversified and if it doesn't contain gold stocks, I don't think you can call it diversified. The real question is, should we be buying tangible gold, bullion. Will this element maintain, decrease or increase its value in apocalyptic times.

If you think about it. With the banking system down and electronic data on wealth lost, only tangible wealth remaining. Would gold be and my must need list. Or is water my main concern.
