Picked this up on ebay today and know it needs an acetone bath but what would you grade it? Thanks in advance! Blair

I assume this is not the natural color and would prefer not to grade until you capture it.

As Coinfrog states, it is very difficult to grade because the color looks way off. The sharpness looks to be AU and the surfaces look a bit rough. Can't say much more other than that.

Yeah I knew the color looked way off but having bought from this seller several times before I have found his camera skills lacking but his descriptions honest. He has it at EF - AU. I think the color is washed out probably by his flash. I'll get better photos when I have it in hand. Thanks for looking! Blair

looks au50 and sharply struck. love the rims and the shape of the denticles.

Thanks! it is in serious need of an acetone bath which it will get as soon as I receive it. What struck me (pardon the pun) was the sharpness of the lines in the shield and the denticles. Even with the softness of the focus you can see EVERY line in the shield. I think this is going to be a really nice example of this year in my collection and I got it for VF money so baring any big surprises I am very happy with it.

dont use a flash. just natural light will help

I don't use flash on coins as it washes them out as it appears it did this one. Thanks for the advise though :)

The only question about the green stuff on that coin is whether it's going to eat the coin away slowly over years (verdigris) or eat it away quickly over months (PVC). Either way, it needs to be dealt with sternly.
If the acetone makes a material difference after an hour's soak, it's PVC and with the green this concentrated, the coin probably has permanent damage either way. Doesn't mean it's not worth saving, because everything you like about it is true.

I do see full diamonds but the "L" in "LIBERTY" is a bit weak but think it makes AU-50. Believe the green will come off nicely. Good buy!

I assume those are the pre-acetone pics?
If so, I hope those bits of green will come off. I'm afraid they are verdigris, though.
