A very close friend of mine honored me with this after he was promoted to 'full bird' colonel and new command back in 2005-6. On the reverse you can see where it says "Presented by the commander" which means only a few of these were made and only they (commander of the 9th maintenance squadron) could hand them out. captainrich Pillar of the Community United States 985 Posts	Posted 05/03/2024 7:12 pm Speaking of Presidents, the U.S. Mint issued its 20th medal in the Presidential Silver Medals Program, specifically James A. Garfield, which I received today. I noticed the Mint uses the same Certificate of Authenticity for each new medal by purposely avoiding the name of the president on the COA... There's still no word if the Theodore Roosevelt issue in 2025 will differ in any way from the Theodore Roosevelt medal that was included in the 2013 Coin and Chronicles set. It would be nice if there was some subtle difference, since the 2013 silver medal was supposed to be exclusive to the Coin and Chronicles set.
