I do like my fine wanderings into exonumia myself, and enjoy seeing others items here on CCF  Just picked up this unusual trade token a few days ago at a flea market as I have never seen a silver dollar sized bimetallic! of all things trade token. Not on numista, but similar shape and design are there, just not this one. Hondo Boguss, you would like this one:   Center is made from aluminum, which is very unusual for 1899, and the ring from brass/bronze. This particular piece was definitely used quite a bit in someone's pocket as it is all dinged up and stained much. Excellent score, mrwhatisit - that's a great token! There is a listing for your token on tokencatalog, but unfortunately it does not provide a date. I have some bimetallic tokens from Louisiana that are very similar, and they all date from the mid-1920's to perhaps the early 1930's.
Bimetallics from that era are generally scarce, as they were quite a bit more expensive to make and the centers wore out just as quickly as aluminum tokens.
