I think and hope I have a finale post from all this hunting by Tuesday. I gambled and bid on a medal instead of buying it Now, that is the biggest hole in my project. I must say, sometimes I am able to post my own info and most times I have had to do the research elsewhere and am guilty of copy and paste with a bit of editing. In the course of doing all that reading, I have been taken back to my grade and high school days of learnin'. My hope is that everyone else will have this to enjoy when I'm history too. Wish me luck on my grand finale. I won't mention what it is because I'm superstitious. Less than 24 hours to go. I already have my post ready. TNG Bedrock of the Community United States 10284 Posts	Posted 10/15/2018 11:57 pm My Grand Finale for medals! 1967 Paul Revere IFCS Felix Schlag Medal This started at 50 bucks buy it now or bid at 25. I have only ever seen one other and that was for sale in a complete set and out of the question. It is my experience that these type of medals look much better in hand than the images online. Even so, I am thrilled about my "Grand Finale" I almost bought it immediately as I was waiting on one to show up for over a year and looked almost daily. I had promised myself that when it showed up, and I bought one that I would stop aggressively hunting for medals. And I am doing just that. Was I serious about getting this one? With 4 seconds left, I did a manual snipe of $76.52 on top of my only bid. Nobody else knew what this was I suppose? It cost me $28.50 whooo hoo! So this is the fourth medal in my Felix Schlag collection. It is also the rarest with a mintage of 1266. As far as I know, he is credited with only four medals from the Franklin Mint and now I have them all. Why Felix Schlag? He won the contest for designing the "new" Jefferson nickel for 1938. the Jefferson nickel is probably the foundation of my numismatic adventure in life. It's time to break them out and move on. It has been quite sometime since I messed with my collection of Jefferson nickels of which I have almost all that you'll find listed in the Red Book, proofs and varieties included and not listed as well. Great tribute you pay him by collecting these. However, I have to take exception to this being your finale post. No bueno my friend. Surely I am misreading Seriously though, this is one of my favorite threads and you have shown some spectacular medals that I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about. Thank you TNG.
