I lost some bids on ebay, so I had to get something to fill my sadness . So I bought some RD pennies, however, when I got them from the mail, there was some carbon spots already on them... it was hard if not impossible to distinguish from seller photos. I didn't spend enough to make it worth returning them. Am I being too picky? Or is this common amongst RD pennies and nothing to worry about? I usually do not buy pennies on ebay and wanted some opinions on how I made out. Thanks!

Unfortunately carbon spots are a problem. I sell them as is, but do have them on pristine tubed rolls where coins in MS64+ ranges, really ruins an almost perfect coin! Heard someone say, can't remember where, who, or what the products name was, but it is a paste/solution(?) jeweler's used on copper and other metals to remove that copper oxide.

Look like MS63's - check prices - I'de return them. You want nice red cents then get MS66's - low price on the common ones!! Probably as much as you paid for these!

To answer your question, yes; it is a common problem. You said they were cheap, and they are probably typical for that price point.

This is typical for a cheap e-bay sale . I'm thinking you rushed to fast to quench your thirst because sellers photo's should have shown enough to pull your finger off the trigger . However some sellers have very bad photos of their coins , I admit . you live and you learn .

All 3 have something I dislike. I'd return them. The vast majority of the time on ebay bargains are bargains for a reason.

Look like typical coins for the issues, all around MS-63.

It's not the best of news for these coins, but atleast I will know what to look for in the future. I got these coins for a good deal, so if anything I have learned my lesson and will attempt to re sell. The 'good' news is that these are all holdered ms 65/66 RD by NGC and or PCGS and people will buy the holder, not the coin...
