I assume this is PMD as the jacket seems to be well formed but would like your input on it. Thanks for looking

Not PMD. That's a Peeled Lamination error. Nice find and it is 2x2 worthy.

Definitely not a PMD and I don't think it is a peeled Lam either.

I am with Crazyb0 on this one it does match the characteristics of a Struck thru. Wood fragment.

If it is a lam, I would think the the peeling would have to have happened before minting, as in a bad planchet for the jacket to look normal...or am I thinking wrong?

Sorry about that OldJoeClark. I thought it was a Peeled Lamination, but it wasn't. Struck Through wood grain makes more sense.
