So I go to several Commerce banks today to dump $1,000 in halves. I try to mix it up a bit so I don't tie up the tellers too much. Most of the banks have their coin counter set to only take $100 of halves per bag so it can take a while. When they open the machine, as the bags get filled up, I always look at the bottom of it to see what rejects are down there. While they have a tray for the rejects many don't make it and end up at the bottom. Here's what I got today:

1950 Washington quarter
$1 Euro
$10 Peso
5 Pence
7 tokens for a video arcade at the mall
Angel Token (not sure what it is for)

I think I did as good at the coin counter than my last couple box of halves.

Sounds like the reject tray is paying off!

I've been in the driest of dry spells for silver.

About 7 weeks ago I hit two 90s and seven 40s in one box..

I've picked out two 40s in 4 boxes since... Seems like everyone is hunting for silver in my area! And beating me to it

Well I just started roll searching and it doesn't seem many in my area are into it, the banks that I've been getting them hadn't had any requests for boxes. The 2nd of my 1st boxes was a jackpot, but my last 4 were pretty slim with only 1 box having anything at all. I also noticed with the last 4 boxes how many of the coins were marked by roll searchers. I would say that close to 5% of them were marked up, quite a few of those by the same person too.

why dont u dump all $1000 at one bank... ask whatever bank you get them from to give you the box they came in... roll them and take the whole box to the dump bank and get cash for it... thats what I do...

because rolling them would take just as long as dumping them at the bank. They are on my way to work so it's easy to stop by. The only reason it can take a while at the bank is when they are busy, but I started going after I drop my son off at school and it's quiet in the mornings. Besides if I did that I wouldn't get the rejects. There is one bank that has the bag set at $500 because someone is roll searching a few towns over from me. I'd go there but it's 10 minutes out of my way. Eventually they'll set the machine for $500 a bag and then it won't take much time at all.
