I put 3 1969s pennies together, just because I had 3, and I noticed 2
of the S's were tilted. The one on top seems to be tilted to the right and the bottom left to the left. Is this normal?

The mintmarks were added by puncheon individually to each working die by hand at the Philly mint. This makes for place and orientation differences

It is completely normal for cents up until 1990 when the mintmark became part of the master design.

Great question with specific answers. Now if we could all beat 1990 into our brain we'd have it.

Moxking , the only problem is in 1990 the cent and nickel were still punched into the individual working dies. It wasn't untill 1991 they caught up with the other denominations

Sorry , had it backwards . The cent and nickel started in 1990 and the rest in 1991
