Found this beauty in a box of coins. It's a 1953 D which appears to have a repunched mint marking. And information or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a RPM1 D/D strong west. Ken Potter's error and variety.
I could be wrong but check it out. They list a couple of strong west RPM's for this year.

Definitely might be a maybe RPM, but not the one indicated, note placement of OP is centered, the 001 variety is directly under 5. Still looking for match.

No match anywhere, must call it a nicely placed hit, MD, similar to, but one point to note is the thicker upper
portion of vertical bar, too thick for normal D punch.

It definitely is not an RPM-001 Mint Mark position is not correct.what you are seeing is a glare in the pic.

Md1086 Your picture is too small to verify anything on the MM! I tried to enlarge your pic.without distorting it,for what it looks like it doesn't look like an RPM unless you are able to post a close up of the MM , not shrinking down the existing Pic.

Crazyb0 and Chase007, yep, not rpm #1. After looking at it again I can see that, still think it's one though. I'm sure if it is, Crazyb0 will ID it.
