Good morning CCF Members! I have here a 1983 D Lincoln Memorial cent. I rubbed and I rubbed... and I poked and I poked, however the die chip will not move. I thought it could be a plating blister, but that is out of the question. I'm still learning, please bare with me. Any thoughts? Thank you for your time have a great day!

You are on the right track for this being a bubble/blister.it is a zinc rot developing around the MM.
Here is a link with Coop explaining what causes these issues on the Zincolns on a similar topic.

Especially since most of them end up in convenience store parking lots that kids won't even pick up.

It is sad for sure. I thought I had a nice coin for my collection, however I shall still keep it for reference. Thank you everyone for your comments!
