Good morning CCF Members! I have here a 1983 D Lincoln Memorial cent. I rubbed and I rubbed... and I poked and I poked, however the die chip will not move. I thought it could be a plating blister, but that is out of the question. I'm still learning, please bare with me. Any thoughts? Thank you for your time have a great day!
You are on the right track for this being a bubble/blister.it is a zinc rot developing around the MM. Here is a link with Coop explaining what causes these issues on the Zincolns on a similar topic. http://goccf.com/t/168585#1550797
Oh nice! Thank you so much for the link. It was very interesting to see what is going on and knowledge for me to retain in the future! Yay! I'm finally gettin it! So to speak. Thank you!
