I've seen it called split plating before. Have you checked to see if any are known for 91?

Yeah doubleddie.com has ddr-002 and it looks a lot like that one. But it's hard to tell. I thought it might be a plating issue myself but the doubleddie.com makes me want to question further. Maybe I'll talk to mr.wexler about it see what he thinks.

I say it's a doubled die for sure, split plating doubling wouldn't be that separated from the columns. It could be either 1DR-002 or 1DR-003 on coppercoins. Go here and enter From: 1991 Until: 1991 Philadelphia Mint and Doubled Die Reverse: http://coppercoins.com/advsearch.php

It is a DDR. Check Coppercoins.com and enter what TanMan said. Great find!

Congrats on the find. This type of DDR was the first I found (mine was 1994) so these extra column varieties are ones I have a fondness for. Enjoy that coin!
