It always fascinates me reading about these hoards.

The odd gold coin makes me wonder who lost it and the impact of losing it, it would of been a lot of money at the time.

Apparently the newer metal detectors are much more sensitive than old models. So new finds can pop up in locations that have already been searched by past generations. Of course living somewhere like England or France makes your chances of finding something old much greater.
