This is one of my recent purchases, what grade do you give it? The wear spots are there, but they are not as glaring in hand. The color is darker on the obverse, but fairly accurate on the reverse. and if the flash glare was not there you can see all the horizontal lines are seperated

I have not graded something in awhile, but I'll go ahead and say AU 50, because the shield lines look pretty full.

I might be wrong, though.

Tough to say for sure from the photos, but if I take your word for it that the wear spots on the obverse aren't as bad as the photo shows, then I'd guess between EF-45 and Au-50 details. Just can't see enough for me to be more specific. I don't have any reason to think it's been cleaned, but so many from this era have been. If it hasn't been cleaned, then all the better. Nice coin.

The toning is why I got it. I don't understand myself though, I like this type of toning on 1/2's but not on Morgans, on those I like an overall even tone.
