Hello everyone,

I have a 1983-P dime and it has a dent on the Observe rim does anyone know how this dent might have been made or what caused it?.. also on the reverse bottom of the coin looks like there is a crack... Hope these photos are good enough

The obverse dent is post-mint damage. It is interesting, though, in how cleanly the rim was pushed in. The crack you mention is too blurry for me to tell much about.

How was the dent made? Something hit the coin after it was made.
