Interesting, chafemasterj. It's surprising that more towns have not picked up on this for their anniversary celebrations.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I agree Hondo. Especially back in the 60s and 70s when counter stamping was far more common.

I really like when a counter stamp appears as old and worn as the coin itself. 1919 Masonic counter stamped LWC...

I like this one. but they could have positioned the flag a little bit better.

Do you have the Kennedy face with the card of coincidences between JFK and Lincoln? Happened to find that in an old box from pop pop's basement.

Brandmeister. Yes I do. I happen to have probably 175 of them. Many many times when I find a lot of counter stamped Lincoln Cents with one or two that I don't have there are almost always a couple of Kennedy and/or Masonic counter stamps along for the ride. The Masonic ones if I had to guess (I'm not home atm) the Whitman albums hold 7 pages. Each page has 36 holes I think and I have about an album and a half. I would say that is about 450 if I also include all of the ones I have that won't fit in the standard 19mm cent hole.
