I've read about these online but have never had an image of them. They refer to them as Victory Pennies. Having been stamped after the end of World War II. The LWC that is along for the ride is extremely cupped I believe styled after the Doughboy helmets the soldiers wore at the time. In this link I've found after purchasing my set shows this pair being used as a pin. http://www.stewartsmilitaryantiques....archive.htm Edit: I was just looking at this set and see that there is a broken pin that had been soldered to the back of the V cent. They obviously didn't have the luxury of computers to assist in the stamp making progress in 1948. (Assuming they used a fairly new LWC to stamp.)...and I may have also wanted to play with my usb microscope... Almost without fail when I purchase a lot of counterstamped LMCs or LWCs to get one or two regular ones that I don't have there are a handful of Masonic themed ones that come along for the ride. Not to mention the Kennedy Looks at Lincoln variety. Right now I'm almost at 200 with a count of 189. I have a Whitman generic coin album dedicated to only them and it is almost full.
